Auto manufacturer Chrysler has just released a recall affecting more than 900,000 Jeep, Dodge & Chrysler vehicles amid concerns over heated power mirrors and failing alternators that may cause a fire.

While the largest of the recalls will affect almost 470,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles equipped with the Chrysler 3.6 V6 “Pentastar” engines which can stall unexpectedly as a result of the defective alternators, Dodge Chargers, Challengers, Durangos and also Chrysler 300’s that are equipped with the same power plant are also included in the recall.

Chrysler will be replacing the alternators for free.

The second recall is slated to affect more than 430,000 Jeep Wrangler models (2011-2013), where it has been discovered that water can enter the wiring for the heater power mirror and cause a short.
