Kevin Canady

Investigator
Kevin Canady

How I help our clients: Kevin is a field investigator with Riddle & Brantley. Even though Kevin is new with our firm, he is excited for this opportunity. He enjoys helping others and leading them in the right direction. Kevin, as well as our other investigators, makes things convenient for our clients by going out to their home or, at times, the hospital to get the claims process started as quickly as possible. He is a good listener and uses his law enforcement experience to get the facts.

Background: Kevin was born and raised in Eastern North Carolina. He began his career fresh out of high school when he began taking Criminal Justice courses and BLET. He started with Kinston Police Department in 1998 as a rookie and worked his way up in ranks to Sergeant. He is dual certified as both law enforcement and Level II firefighter. He was a K-9 handler for 10+ years and after K-9 Ringo passed as a result of cancer, he became the departments K-9 trainer. He was Sergeant of patrol, SRU (Special Response Unit) and the K-9 division until he departed with the department in 2015. Kevin worked in Asset Protection for Wal-Mart and Best Buy before joining Riddle & Brantley LLC in 2017. Kevin has numerous certifications and has attended North Carolina Justice Academy, Lenoir Community College, Pitt Community College and Nash Community College where he has furthered his education with Continuing Education Credits. He received the Certificate of Recognition for Meritorious Duty in 2000.

What I like to do in my free time: Kevin is married and has three children. His wife is a nurse and their boys range in age from 4 years old to 17 years old. He enjoys spending time with his family and helping with his children’s extracurricular activities. As a family, they enjoy fishing, checking out the drag strip and anything fun. Kevin also enjoys working on cars and watching sports on TV.

Why I like working at Riddle & Brantley: Kevin thoroughly enjoys working with all the staff. He believes that everyone at our law firm has been nice and enjoys being part of a team. He is happy to be part of a firm that puts our client’s best interest at heart and takes pleasure in helping others.
