A native of Buchanan County, Virginia, Sean A. B. Cole is a North Carolina personal injury attorney and mediator. He practices law with Riddle & Brantley from our Raleigh, North Carolina location.

Sean devotes 100 percent of his practice to personal injury claims. His additional certifications in mediation and arbitration allow him to offer legal services to a broad spectrum of clients. He accepts personal injury cases involving car accidentspremises liability, products liability and more. As a trial lawyer, Sean also has experience in bad faith litigation as well as toxic exposure cases in North Carolina.

Education and Professional Experience

Sean graduated cum laude from King College in Bristol, TN in 1994. There, he completed an independent study in History as well as minored in Biology, Chemistry and Political Science. Then, he earned his Juris Doctor from Wake Forest University School of Law in 1997. While there, he was a member of the student trial bar, the National Moot Court Team and the Judge Joseph Branch Inn of Court. He was inducted into the Order of Barristers upon graduation.

Sean gained admission to the North Carolina State Bar in 1997. After this, he spent two and a half years defending insurance companies, but he quickly decided to change sides in order to help real people and their communities. He has now been in practice for 20 years, and continues to focus on protecting people’s rights.

Memberships and Accolades

Throughout his career, Sean has obtained numerous awards and accolades including admission into the Million and Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forums. This honor is given to less than one percent of all trial lawyers in the United States. In addition, he maintains a preeminent “AV” rating with Martindale-Hubbel, a rating system of ethical standards and legal ability based on reviews from other attorneys. He has also been named among the Top 100 Trial Lawyers in the U.S., as well as one of the North Carolina Super Lawyers for several years running.

Sean is a member of several prestigious legal organizations, including the North Carolina and Wake County Bar Associations. He is also part of the Southern Trial Lawyers Association (STLA) as well as the National Association of Distinguished Counsel.
